🎧 Episode: A Letter to the Guilty Homemaker

You wake up and hit the ground running—maybe feeding littles, prepping meals, folding laundry, trying to pray while stirring a pot of spaghetti, or just attempting to breathe in a quiet moment without guilt crawling up your spine. Whether you’re married, single, a mom, or newly navigating your homemaking role—it’s exhausting.

Today’s post is for you, sweet friend.

For the woman going to bed feeling like she didn’t do enough. For the homemaker wondering if she’s making a difference. For the wife questioning if she’s a good one. For the Christian who loves Jesus deeply but can’t shake the overwhelm.

Let’s talk about grace—real, biblical, soul-settling grace.

Feelings vs. Facts: What Are You Building On?

Let’s start here: Your feelings are real. They're allowed. But they are not your foundation.

Feelings come in waves. They rise with hormones, fatigue, or a pile of dishes that just won’t go away. And that’s okay. But if we build our identity on feelings, our days will be as unstable as a home built on sand.

That’s why God gave us facts.

✨ The fact is: You are a child of God.
✨ The fact is: You are forgiven.
✨ The fact is: You are lovely—because Christ in you is lovely.
✨ The fact is: You are doing better than you think.

Write those down if you need to. Speak them out loud. Tape them to your fridge or scribble them in your journal. Let the facts of God's Word be your anchor.

When You Feel Like You’re Failing

Did you forget to make dinner again this week? Is your laundry multiplying like loaves and fishes but not in a holy way?

Here's the truth: If you care enough to feel guilty, you’re already proving your heart is invested. And that means you’re not failing.

Sometimes, the enemy tries to use your compassion as a weapon. But God uses it to call you closer. Every feeling of guilt can become a turning point back to grace. You don’t need to be better to be beloved.

Let me say that again: You don’t need to be better to be beloved.

What You Can Do Right Now

If your heart is heavy, try this little rhythm:

  1. List Your Feelings. Exhausted. Disappointed. Overwhelmed.

  2. Match Them With Facts. “I am tired, but I am not alone. I am overwhelmed, but I am covered by grace.”

  3. Ask the Hard Question. “What lie is the enemy trying to get me to believe today?”

  4. Cross it out. Write the truth instead. Literally. On paper.

These little grace rhythms can transform your inner life. And I want to help you build more of them into your day-to-day.

Final Thought: Even the Thorns Have a Purpose

In the episode, I shared this picture of shepherds surrounding their sheep with thorny hedges—not to hurt them, but to protect them. The prick of the thorn was a gentle nudge: “Come back. Stay close. You’re safest here.”

And don’t we see that same thorny love on the head of our Savior?

Even your hard days—the ones that sting—can bring you closer to your Shepherd.

So, sister, as you stand in your kitchen, look at your messy living room, or crawl into bed with tears in your eyes, remember:

You are not failing.
You are not forgotten.
You are lovely.
And your home is too—because He lives in it.
